Sony Leaks | A7sIII Specifications | 240 FPS

As the dreadful wait for Sony A7sIII continues, more and more specs of the camera are now leaking, particularly more so after the launch of the new Canon R5 which is said to directly compete with the Sony A7sIII. From the latest leaks the first not so great news is that the camera will not be capable of recording 8K video. But apart from that the other specks look pretty interesting. The leaks state the A7sIII will be capable of recording 4K upto 120 fps, 10 bit, 4:2:2 & Full HD at upto 240 fps. Now that's big. The camera also boasts of a new type of passive cooling system which will prevent the camera from heating up while shooting long duration unlike Canon R5 (which appears to be a bummer). All New Blackmagic URSA Mini PRO 12K | 8K Upto 140 FPS | 4K Upto 220 FPS

12288 X 6480 You read that correct, 12288x6480 aka 12K that's the resolution the new Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K (like DUH!) shoots video at. Now that a 12K digital production camera is here one might argue... Do I really need 12K ? What about those huge file size. Which media do I record it onto? Will my workstation be able to handle those? Which software handles 12K seamlessly? 12K is fine but can it do high resolution SloMo as well? What is an all new 12k camera gonna cost? Well at least these where the questions I had when I saw the specifications. The good thing is blackmagic themselves have all these questions/doubts how ever you may want to look at it, have answered/clarified. Do I really need 12k? Yes... 12K is sure very useful when you are doing VFX and need extra details for tracking rotoscoping etc. Not just that, say when you are editing 4K video you can now essentially re-frame and zoom in so much more without any quality loss that it allows you just shoot on...

Canon EOS R5 Video Heating Issues | 8K RAW Video | Video Recording Limitations

Canon took the world by surprise with their EOS R5 mirrorless camera, it sure caught Sony off-guard. Looked like they were creating 'Dejavu' (read Canon 5D Mark 3 days) Every one was awestruck at the cameras capabilities to record 8K RAW video in such a small form factor. Though the form factor is very similar to previous EOS R camera with no real passive cooling or any other cooling technology like in the new Fuji cameras. But this awe seems to be short lived as new leaks from Canon are stating that the camera has heating issues with long duration video recording at higher resolution / bitrate. Wish Canon could have taken some more time & innovated with the R5 cameras cooling system as well. So much this Canon R5 cameras has to offer but is limited by heating issues.
